Kazakhstan in Agreement for Further 100,000 tons of Crude for Germany's Schwedt Per Month

Germany and Kazakhstan have reached an agreement for 100,000 tons of crude oil per month supply to the PCK refinery in Schwedt by the end of 2024 according to DPA reports.

  • The long-term delivery should increase the refinery's capacity utilization by about 10 percentage points according to the reports.
  • The agreement was made on the sidelines of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier's visit to the Central Asian state on Tuesday.
  • Kazakhstan has stepped in with deliveries several times since the beginning of the year to help supply the refinery after it has tried to move away from Russian supplies.
