Kazakhstan Plans To Ship 20k T Of Oil To Germany In Jan

Kazakhstan plans to supply 20,000 tonnes of crude oil to Germany via Russia this month, according to the Kazakh Energy Ministry.

  • Kazakhstan is ready to supply 1.5mn t of crude oil to Germany this year.
  • Russia has indicated it is ready to transit crude to Germany.
  • “We were waiting for official confirmation from our colleagues from Russia about the passage through the territory of the Russian Federation, so we have oral confirmation,” Kazakh energy minister Bulat Akshulakov said.
  • Kazakhstan in late December had requested an additional 1.2mn tonnes of Druzbha pipeline capacity for 2023 from Russian operator Transneft to enable Kazakhstan to ship additional oil to Germany.
