Kazakhstan Ready To Send Crude To Germany

OIL

Kazakhstan is willing to send crude oil to Germany as the government in Berlin is looking for solutions to replace Russian supplies, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said.

  • Kazakhstan could send 2-5mn t/yr by pipeline, Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tileuberdi said.
  • That supply would help to feed refineries such as east Germany’s PCK Schwedt, which has relied on Russian crude via the Druzhba pipeline.
  • Kazakhstan’s potential use of Druzhba to supply Germany may present a challenge since the route crosses Russia. Both sides are still considering which pipeline could be used, Tileuberdi said.
  • Germany last week said it aims to make a decision on oil supplies for the Schwedt refinery this week.
