Kinder Morgan Centerville Compressor Station Shut until October

Kinder Morgan said Aug. 24 that the Centreville compressor station in Tennessee will likely be out of service until October.

  • "While the impacted compressor station has been shut down, the pipeline remains in service," a company spokesperson said in an email.
  • The Kinder Morgan unit Tennessee Gas Pipeline declared force majeure Aug. 18 after equipment failure at the compressor station caused a fire.
  • At the time of the fire, the company said that flows for previously scheduled nominations would not be affected, but further gas supply through that segment were at risk.
  • The gas pipeline transfers natural gas from Texas and Alabama to the Northeast, Midwest and Southeast.
