  • Kremlin Spox Peskov says Russia plans to deliver another batch of S-400s to Turkey, noting that the US/Greece should not be threatened by this as the system is for defensive purposes.
    • He gave no new timelines on the matter, but in July Rosoboronexport said the project would be completed in the coming months
  • Parliament is expected to submit a bill proposing fines for stores “hoarding” goods by not releasing them due to the effects of inflation which is causing supply shortages in Turkey.
    • Companies will be fined TRY 50-500k depending on their turnover if convicted
  • Political analyst says Turkey’s exclusion from Biden’s democracy summit is another reminder of not only the cold relations between leaders - but also the bipartisan consensus that Turkey is neither a functioning democracy nor a close ally.
    • Although the Summit will not prove majorly eventful, the lack of an invitation speaks volumes about US perceptions of Erdogan
