Kremlin: UK Decision To Boost Nuclear Arsenal Will Harm Int'l Stability

Comments emerging on wires and social media from the Kremlin stating that the UK gov'ts announcement that as part of its Strategic Defence Review it would boost its nuclear arsenal from around 195 warheads at present to a limit of 260 (should be noted that Russia's warhead stockpile is estimated at around 6,400 warheads and the US at 5,800).

  • Kremlin also criticises a US report into election meddling in 2020, stating that the report is just being used as a pretext to hit Russia with more sanctions. Says that the Russian gov't will take any action necessary to hedge against the impact of sanctions, and that the nature of US sanctions is 'unpredictable'.
