Association Solar Energy UK anticipates Labour’s electoral victory to further accelerate the deployment of solar and energy storage in the country, it said.

  • Solar Energy has called for the new government to publish a Solar Roadmap, already drafted by the Solar Taskforce, and increase the budget for CfD’s Allocation Round 6.
  • Labour has pledged to triple solar power by 2030 – in line with SEUK’s manifesto demand for the UK to reach 50GW of solar generation capacity by the same date.
  • By the end of this year, the UK is expected to have around 20GW of PV, with 8GW of battery energy storage. SEUK forecasts 30GW by the end of the decade.
