US TSYS: Lack of a deal re: trade & immigration at the end of Wednesday's
meeting between U.S. & Mexican negotiators was in focus, triggering an early
uptick in T-Notes. Worries remained, even as U.S. Pres Trump confirmed that the
talks will resume tomorrow & pointed to progress (albeit not enough).
- The session was relatively limited in terms of both headlines & market flow.
- T-Notes stuck to a tight range and last trade +0-03 at 127-02+. U.S. cash Tsy
yields are 2.0bp to 3.3bp lower across the curve, with some modest bull
steepening evident.
- Eurodollar contracts trade 0.5 to 2.0 ticks higher through the reds.
- Trade data and the weekly jobless claims provide the highlights of the
domestic data docket today. On the Fedspeak front we are set to hear from
Williams & Kaplan.
