  • Q: Do you think the inflation rate will already fall in December, and do you think it will be harder to hike rates if inflation is falling in future?
  • A: Maybe the December number will be a little bit lower, but we have reasons to believe that Jan and Feb are likely to be higher, so we can't be fixated on one single number - have to look at the inflation outlook, what has been achieved. What really matters is the destination - where do we want to go. We have more ground to cover. We have to go longer, and we are in this long game which is the reason for the decision. Jan / Feb are typically months where wholesale energy prices reach retail prices. We also see food prices rising.
