LATAM: Brazil Industrial Production, Chile Monetary Policy Report in Focus

  • Brazil industrial production for July headlines the regional data calendar on Wednesday, as well as releasing composite and services PMI data for August. Focus will also be on the latest Monetary Policy Report (IPoM) from Chile, following the unanimous decision to cut the MPR by 25bps late Tuesday.
  • On the speaker slate, Brazil finance minister Haddad is scheduled to have an interview with GloboNews television channel. Additionally in Colombia, Mines and Energy Minister Omar Andres Camacho speaks at an energy conference, while Finance Minister Ricardo Bonilla meets with lawmakers to discuss the 2025 budget.
  • Trade balance data from the US is set to start the NA session, but it's the JOLTS Job Openings data that could prove more of a needle mover, given the ongoing sensitivity to US labour market conditions headed into the September Fed decision.
