Libya Maintains Near Effective Oil Production in April

Libya’s crude oil output averaged 1.19mn b/d for Q1 2023, the second straight quarter of near-1.2mn b/d production – around Libya’s effective capacity.

  • Crude and condensate exports left at a pace of around 1.0-1.1mn b/d in April – in line with the previous eight months according to Kpler.
  • Libyan officials have said the country plans to target production of 2mn bpd in the next 3-5 years. Production from the country reached a peak of 1.7mn bpd prior to the 2011 civil war.
