JGB futures nudged higher at the Tokyo open, but have stuck to a tight range thus far, drawing support from the broader downtick in equities on the back of the previously outlined guidance from U.S. tech name Snapchat. That leaves the contract +3 at typing, with cash JGBs running little changed to ~1bp richer across the curve, bull flattening.

  • Japanese Finance Minister Suzuki noted that he plans to submit an extra budget to parliament tomorrow, while highlighting the government aim of firmly responding to price rises, given the threat that such a dynamic poses to consumption.
