Light Twist Steepening For SONIA Futures

STIR

SONIA futures come under modest twist steepening pressure to start the week, but don’t stray too far from Friday’s settlement levels, last showing +1.0 to -2.0 through the blues, pivoting in the greens.

  • Weekend headline flow centred on fiscal speculation, but that will be more of a matter for gilts to digest, as opposed to the very short end.
  • Comments from BoE chief economist Pill are set to dominate the local docket today. Pill will participate in a Q&A session on the latest monetary policy report, which, when coupled with the fact that he spoke at the back end of last week, probably limits the scope for fresh, meaningful information.
