FOREX: Little in the way of stand-out news flow noted in Asia-Pacific hours.
- GBP the modest outperformer amongst G10 after the bill that pushes the
government to avoid a no-deal Brexit passed through the Commons by the slimmest
of margins, 1 vote.
- Elsewhere headlines were dominated by U.S.-China trade matters. The WSJ
reported that "an announcement of a summit (between Trump & Xi) date is "likely"
to come while Mr. Trump meets with the Chinese leader's special envoy, Vice
Premier Liu He, at the White House on Thursday, according to an administration
official, but discussions remain fluid and those plans could change."
- The economic docket was limited overnight, on the back of the front-laded
nature of this week's regional releases, and ahead of a long holiday weekend in
China & Hong Kong. Fed's Kashkari offered nothing new.
- Early AUD & NZD strength faded, and was only limited, at best, to start with.
- Focus today turns to German factory orders, Brexit matters & the ECB's March
MonPol meeting minutes, while Fed's Mester and Harker are set to deliver
speeches.
