Little reaction to the Presidential Debate

BOND SUMMARY

There has been little movement in fixed income markets with Treasuries moving a little lower after the Presidential debate but retracing losses while Bunds and gilts have stuck to a very tight range this morning.

  • On the calendar today we see the third print of US GDP, the MNI Chicago Business Barometer and ADP employment. There are also a number of speeches from ECB's Lane and the Fed's Kashkari, Bowman and Bullard due.
  • Earlier this morning BOE's Andy Haldane confirmed it would take "several months" to complete the BOE's review into negative rates, adding credence to the MNI Insight story yesterday that stated that the questions for the review had not even been set yet.
  • TY1 futures are down -0-1 today at 139-24 with 10y UST yields down -0.1bp at 0.649% and 2y yields down -0.3bp at 0.122%.
  • Bund futures are down -0.02 today at 174.85 with 10y Bund yields unch at -0.546% and Schatz yields up 0.1bp at -0.713%.
  • Gilt futures are down -0.07 today at 136.49 with 10y yields up 0.4bp at 0.186% and 2y yields up 0.7bp at -0.51%.
