LNG at Sea Rose 5.8% Last Week

The total estimated quantity of LNG on tankers that have not unloaded for at least 20 days increased 5.8% over the last week to 4.74mn tons as of 22 October, according to Bloomberg estimates.

  • LNG on water rose more than 15% above 2022 levels and 70% above the 2018-2022 average.
  • Floating cargoes from the US, Qatar and Russia rose by one each last week, while those from Australia decreased by one.
  • Floating volumes can keep growing as global LNG supply is outstripping total LNG imports every week since September, as mild weather and high inventory levels in key LNG markets are weighing on demand.
