Brunei LNG has restarted “several trains” at its plant in Lumut, with the rest to be restarted soon after a recent “operational upset”, a market source told Platts Nov. 25.

  • The news of the restarts of Brunei LNG trains come as the LNG carrier Arkat anchored Nov. 25 at Brunei’s Seria terminal.
  • In its last update Nov. 22, Brunei LNG said it was in the process of “a safe start-up, which is expected to continue until further notice.”
  • Brunei operates a 6.7m mtpa LNG export facility, but its actual exports were around 4.75m mtpa in 2023. Over half of its exports go to Japan., with the remainder sent to China, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand.
