LNG on Water Continued to Rise​

The total estimated quantity of LNG on tankers that have not unloaded for at least 20 days rose by 3.4% last week to 3.59mn tons as of 17 December, while seasonal trends typically show a decline in floating volumes, according to Bloomberg estimates.

  • Floating LNG levels were above 2022 levels of 2.824mn tons and the five-year average of 2.249mn tons.
  • LNG on water that have not unloaded for at least 30 days also increased last week to 1.568mn tons as of 17 December, up by 0.272mn tons on the week and above the five-year average of 0.764mn tons.
