LNG Stockpiles Held by Japan’s Utilities Continue Trend Lower

LNG stockpiles held by Japanese utilities declined by 2.63% last week to 1.48mn tons as of 31 March, data from the trade ministry showed.

  • Stockpiles fell to the lowest since at least August 2022, when Bloomberg started publishing the data.
  • Inventories were below the five-year average of 2.14mn tons for the end of March and below last year’s levels of 2.33mn tons.
