LNG Storage At Japanese Utilities Lags 5-Year Average

LNG storage at major Japanese power utilities continued its downward trend and stood at 1.62mn tonnes on 17 September, 21.4%, or 0.44mn tons, below the five-year average according to ICIS.

  • LNG storage levels stood 0.93mn tons below levels during the same period last year.
  • Japan’s Jera Co returned to the spot LNG market recently and procured shipments for the fourth quarter, traders said.
