LNG: US LNG Exports Rise to 24 Cargoes in Week to July 31

The number of US LNG export cargoes rose to 24 last week from 21 the previous week, according to the EIA as feedgas flows to US LNG export terminals also increased.

  • Total capacity of the vessels was at 90bcf compared to 79bcf last week based on Bloomberg data.
  • Average natural gas deliveries to US LNG export terminals increased by 1.4bcf/d from last week to 12.9bcf/d, according to data from S&P Global Commodity Insights.
  • Natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Louisiana were unchanged at 7.7bcf/d while deliveries to South Texas increased 56.6% (1.5bcf/d) to 4.1bcf/d after Freeport LNG restarted all three trains for the first time since July 7.
  • US LNG export terminal feedgas flows are today at 13.04bcf/d according to Bloomberg with a 0.65bcf/d recovery in Sabine Pass supply after a dip lower yesterday.
  • US LNG exports are still more profitable to Asia over Europe until Jan 2025, according to BNEF. The US netback to Asia for September is up to $10.19/mmbtu and to Europe to $9.09/mmbtu.
