LNG: Volume of LNG at Sea Eases Back Down from Peak Last Week

LNG at sea has fallen from a peak late last week but rose in the last week after an increasing trend in place since mid October, according to Bloomberg.

  • The quantity of LNG on tankers that have not unloaded for at least 20 days rose 5.2% on the week to 4.99m tons as of Nov. 24 having reached a peak of 5.31m tons on Nov. 22. The previous five year average for the time of year is around 3.21m tons.
  • The estimated volume of LNG on tankers that have not unloaded for at least 30 days remains high at 2.67m tons after reaching a high of 2.76m tons on Nov 21.
