Multiple news outlets reporting that the entirety of London is set to be placed under Tier 3 COVID-19 restrictions, with Health Secretary Matt Hancock due to deliver a statement to the House of Commons at 1530GMT (1630CET, 1030ET).
- The emergency decision comes two days in advance of 16 December, when the gov't is due to announce the results of the latest review of COVID-19 tiers.
- The move is set to deliver another hammer-blow to the capital's economy, with bars and restaurants shut except for takeaway.
