Low Oil Product Stocks Keep Cracks Strong

  • The updated Insights European product ARA inventories will be release today. Oil product crack spreads remain strong on continuing tight supply. Diesel cracks hit new highs again yesterday after EIA inventory data provided little relief and the IEA monthly report suggested diesel and kerosene markets are to remain tight. Europe Gasoil stocks were at 1.46m mt last week compared to the 5-year average of 2.51m mt for this time of year.
  • This afternoon at 15:30BST sees the release of the latest EIA weekly gas inventories with stocks 15% below the 5-year average. Expectation is for a build of 90bcf following a build of 97bcf last week and compared to a seasonal normal build of 93bcf for this time of year. The extended outage of the Freeport LNG export terminal may provide an opportunity to replenish stocks and build levels up towards normal over the coming weeks.
