Macron Confirms Supply Of AMX-10 RC Vehicles In Zelenskyy Call-Elysee

Reuters reporting that 'French President Emmanuel Macron told his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy that France would send light AMX-10 RC armoured combat vehicles to help in the war against Russia, an Elysee official said after a phone call between the two leaders. Speaking to reporters, the official did not give any details about the volume or timing of the planned shipments.'

• The call comes days after the confirmation of a major strike on Russian forces in the occupied Donbas, with the Russian military confirming the death of 89 soldiers in a Ukrainian US-supplied Himars strike in the city of Makiivka. Kyiv claims the death toll is much higher.
• The Ukrainian missile is believed to have hit an ammunition store on the site of the base, contributing to the casualties. Senior Russian military official Lt Gen Sergei Sevryukov has said the widespread use of mobile phones by soldiers (the strike occurred at 0001 local time on New Year's Day) contributed to the fatalities.
