Macron: Phased Reopening To Start 3 May, All Restrictions Lifted 30 June

Speaking to La Parisien, President Emmanuel Macron states that France will begin a phased reopening of the economy and society from 3 May onwards.

  • From 3 May, certificates to leave home will not be required and travel restrictions will come to an end.
  • The current curfew in place from 7pm-6am will be shortened to 9pm-6am from 19 May, and ended entirely on 30 June.
  • Shops, sporting and cultural venues will re-open from 19 May (within the limit of 800 spectators indoors, and 1,000 outdoors). People will be able to meet in groups of up to 10. Restaurants and cafes can serve but only outdoors.
  • Restaurants and cafes will reopen indoors from 9 June with an enforced closing time of 11pm. Foreign tourists will be allowed into France with a valid 'health pass'.
  • All measures set to end on 30 June.
