Macron's Second Round Polling Lead Sizeable But Shrinking

FRANCE

President Emmanuel Macron's lead in hypothetical second round polls ahead of the 10 April 1st round and 24 April run-off election remains sizeable, although shrinking in recent days. While the crisis in Ukraine dominates front pages, recent polling has shown the French electorate's main concerns remain the cost of living and social security. If any candidate can put forward popular or workable policies on these issues they could gain a notable boost in support.
