Malaysia's Ruling Party To Renew Push For Snap Election

ASIA

Leaders of the wings and divisions of Malaysia's ruling United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) are scheduled to meet at 2pm local time in party headquarters and may renew calls for a quick dissolution of parliament.

  • An unidentified source from the ruling party told Free Radio Malaysia that "this is a large-scale final gathering for UMNO before the elections." It will be attended by Prime Minister Ismail Sabri and party President Zahid.
