Malaysian Bintulu LNG Cargoes Deferred into October

Malaysia's Petronas has requested buyers defer some loadings of LNG from its Bintulu complex due to operational issues at one production train, Reuters sources said Thursday.

  • The affected train is at the MLNG Tiga production facility at the Petronas LNG Complex (PLC) in Bintulu, Sarawak.
  • Deferments were requested for October.
  • Petronas has asked some lifters of LNG from Malaysia’s LNG Tiga to defer some loadings from the Bintulu terminal in August by more than a week, sources told Platts earlier this week.
  • The reason for the delay was a glitch in the heat exchanger, affecting at least one train at LNG Tiga, which has train 7 and train 8.
