Marathon’s Robinson Refinery Works Planned for Mid March

Marathon’s 253kb/d Robinson refinery in Illinois plans to shut a crude unit and a coker in mid-March for maintenance but no major turnarounds are planned in 2024 according to Bloomberg sources.

  • The work is expected to last several weeks plus time for shutdowns and resumption of normal operations.
  • The next big turnaround for maintenance of the unicracker and platformer is expected in spring 2025.
  • The refinery processes sweet and sour crude oils into gasoline, distillates, natural gas liquids and petrochemicals, propane and heavy fuel oil.
