MNI BRIEF: NDRC Considering Trade-in Scheme Next Steps
MNI (BEIJING) - China’s central planning agency is studying ways to strengthen support for its equipment upgrading and consumer goods trade-in scheme, and will publicly release details once procedures are completed, Li Chao, deputy director and spokesperson of the National Development and Reform Commission said on Tuesday.
Li reminded reporters the Commission has promoted CNY300 billion super-long-term special government bond funds for the scheme this year, and highlighted October sales of household appliances and audio-visual equipment increased by nearly 40% y/y.
China copper demand will hold firm in Q4 supported by strong exports and consumer goods sales, local non-ferrous analysts told MNI. (See MNI: Copper Q4 Prices To Fall Despite Firm China Demand)
