Mars Oil to Get Output Boost from Chevron & Shell

Production of medium sour Mars Blend oil from the Gulf of Mexico should get a boost in coming months as projects from Chevron and Shell ramp up, Bloomberg said.

  • Shell approved a project to boost oil production at the Vito asset.
  • Chevron announced that the Anchor project produced its first oil and has a design capacity of 75k b/d.
  • Mars is mainly used by US refiners, and some is exported to customers including Irving Oil’s Saint John refinery in Canada, Sinopec, Saras, Sarpom, and ENI.
