MEXICO: Banxico Publishes Q3 Inflation Report

  • Banxico raised its 2024 GDP growth forecast to 1.8%, from 1.5% previously, according to its quarterly inflation report, released Wednesday.
  • The 2025 GDP growth forecast was unchanged at 1.2%, while 2026 growth is seen at 1.8%.
  • Headline inflation forecasts have risen compared to the Q2 QIR, but are unchanged from the recent monetary policy meeting on Nov 14, with headline inflation seen ending the year at 4.7% and core inflation at 3.7%. Inflation is still expected to converge to the 3.0% target in 4Q 2025.
