Mexico is continuing its fall in oil production, amid pressure from the reduction in extraction from Pemex, according to Bloomberg.

  • Mexico’s production was 1.74m b/d in November, the lowest monthly level since February 2021.
  • During the year, Mexico has lost  164k b/d of production, or around 9%.
  • Pemex constitutes around 94% of national production. It has recorded the most significant declines in its mature fields such as Ku and Zaap.
  • President Claudia Sheinbaum has set a target of 1.8m b/d for Pemex production by the end of her 6-year term.
