MIDTERMS: GOP Holds Strong Lead In Voter Enthusiasm Amongst Key Demographics

US

An NPR report has found that voter enthusiasm amongst Democrats' key base voter groups are far below that of Republican-base voter groups.

  • NPR: “While white women with college degrees, who are an important bloc for Democrats, are among the most enthusiastic to vote, Black voters, Latinos and young voters are among the least [...] older voters, Trump voters, white evangelical Christians and rural voters — all key GOP groups — are fired up to vote."
  • The report supports a White House theory that a last-minute push to motivate the Democrat base which won Biden the 2020 Presidential election can help Democrats cling onto the one, or both, chambers of Congress.
  • Biden said in an unscheduled speech yesterday: “This year I hope you’ll make the future of our democracy an important part of your decision to vote and how you vote.”
  • Biden will be hoping that reminding ambivalent Democrat voters of the risk that Trump-aligned Republicans post to US Democrats institutions can compel Democrat leaning voters to turnout.
