Betting exchange Smarkets has shown a surge in support of Republican candidate Adam Laxalt in the Nevada Senate race. The Nevada race is one of the tightest in the country and the sentiment change is indicative of how the political environment has shifted towards the GOP since hotter-than-expected September CPI data and the OPEC+ decision to cut oil production put the brakes on the Democrat summer recovery.
- A new campaign ad on behalf of incumbent Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) has continued to focus on abortion and although the, SCOTUS "Dobbs" decision remains a midterm wildcard, some Democrat strategists believe that a singular focus on abortion has come at the expense of pursuing a message on the economy.
- A "Nevada mother" in Cortez Masto campaign ad says: “I tell my girls if you can dream it, you can do it. I take it incredibly personally that Adam Laxalt is working to take away the rights of my daughters [...] My daughters deserve better than."
