TOKYO (MNI) - Senior officials at the Bank of Japan, the Financial Services
Agency, and the Ministry of Finance are meeting from 1140 JST (0240 GMT) Friday
to discuss the continued volatile financial markets, the BOJ said.
They last met on March 9.
The Nikkei stock index fell below 17,000, for the first since November 10,
2016, and the index traded at 16,842.57, down 1,717.06, or 9.25%, from
Thursday's close.
