MNI BRIEF: Accomm. Stance To Persist After Negative Rates-BOJ Aide

A senior Bank of Japan official said on Thursday that accommodative financial conditions will continue should the BOJ remove its negative interest rate policy.
Seiichi Shimizu, executive director in charge of monetary policy at the BOJ, told lawmakers the Bank's aim was to achieve the 2% price target in a stable and sustainable manner accompanied by wage hikes.
Should the BOJ foresee the achievement of the 2% price target, it will consider whether it is appropriate for the bank to maintain easy policy settings, including the negative interest rate policy.
However, Shimizu didn’t elaborate on when or how the Bank might change the policy.
