MNI BRIEF: BOE Warns of Market Disruption At EU Transition End

LONDON (MNI)

There could be market disruption and volatility as the UK's transition period before leaving the EU comes to a close, the Bank of England's Financial Policy Committee warned Friday

However, that UK banks were resilient and that financial stability was not likely to be endangered by any market disruptions. In the lastes BOE Financial Stability report, published Friday, the FPC also stressed that banks should drawn down on their countercyclical capital buffers to support the economy, with the CCyB likely to remain at 0% until at least Q4 next year.

The Bank noted that the UK banking system remains resilient to a range of economic outcomes, with the capacity to support business and households even if conditions worsen.
