MNI BRIEF: BOJ: 7 Out Of 9 Regions Up Econ Views From April

TOKYO (MNI)

Seven out of the nine regions in Japan raised their economic assessment from three months ago, thanks to easing the impact of Covid-19 on private consumption, the Bank of Japan’s quarterly regional economic report said on Monday.

“According to assessments from regions across Japan, many of them reported that, although the effects of supply-side constraints had been observed, partly brought about by lockdowns in China, their respective economies had been picking up moderately with the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on private consumption waning,” the BOJ said.
