MNI BRIEF: BOJ Kuroda: Flexible Policy, Watching Side-Effects

(MNI) Tokyo
MNI (Osaka)

Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda said on Monday that the BOJ will manage monetary policy in a flexible manner, while paying attention to both the positive and negative effects of easy policy.

However, he didn’t elaborate on how to manage monetary policy in a flexible manner and didn’t indicate the BOJ sees an imminent policy adjustment.

Kuroda told business leaders in Osaka city that the BOJ will monitor the impact of capital outflows on firms and households caused by the rise in resource prices, which has been reflected in worsening terms of trade.
