Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda said on Thursday that people’s negative view on wages and prices had changed a little and the environment for achieving the Bank's 2% price target was being created.

Kuroda told lawmakers that the timing of achieving the 2% price target may be getting nearer, but that would depend on the degree of wage hikes next year.

He also said that the BOJ continues to closely monitor the side-effects of easy policy, although the positive effects of easy policy are exceeding those of negative impact.
