MNI BRIEF:BOJ To Provide 5-Year Liquidity After Board Decision

The Bank of Japan on Wednesday will provide 5-year liquidity as a result of the board’s decision to expand the Funds-Supplying Operations against pooled collateral.
The BOJ will provide 5-year funds to financial institutions on Jan. 24 and the funds will expire Jan. 24, 2028.
The expected fund injection will help stabilise medium-term bond yields, which were under upward pressure and which have more impact on economic activity and banks’ lending.
