The Bank of Japan must pay attention to the impact of the pandemic on credit risks, adjustments in global financial markets and with vulnerabilities that have been present from before the pandemic, the Financial System Report said on Thursday.

“In the event of a substantial and rapid adjustments in global financial markets, a deterioration in financial institutions’ financial soundness and the resultant impairment of the smooth functioning of financial intermediation could pose a risk of further downward pressure on the real economy,” the FSR said.
