China hopes EU trade frictions can be handled through consultation and the accommodation of legitimate concerns from both sides, He Yadong, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.
Speaking to reporters, He highlighted Chinese auto-firms recently opening European factories was reflecting complementary advantages of Beijing-Brussels cooperation. “We hope all sides can implement the consensus reached at the recent tripartite China, French and EU leaders' meeting,” He added.
China’s economic slowdown represents the biggest challenge for European firms wanting to operate there, with Beijing recently improving market access, a leading European lobbyist has told MNI, noting the EU should resist excessive protectionist policies based on simplistic “level-playing field” arguments.
