China will continue to closely monitor changes in the global pandemic situation, study the impact on the country’s foreign trade and supply chain in a timely manner, said Shu Jueting, spokeswoman of the Ministry of Commerce at a briefing on Thursday.

China will study policy measures to deal with possible problems faced by exporters and importers, said Shu, when asked if the new Covid-19 variant Omicron would challenge the global supply chain and affect China’s trade.

The recovery of the world economy is still facing uncertainty with the resurgence of pandemic, she added.
