MNI BRIEF: China, U.S. Have A Constructive Call-MOFCOM

Chinese Vice Premier Liu He had a "candid and constructive" exchange via a video call with U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on Tuesday, according to a statement on the Ministry of Commerce website.

Both Liu and Yellen said there is a need to strengthen communication and coordination of macro policies between China and the U.S., while jointly maintaining the stability of the global supply chain is beneficial to both sides, the statement said.

China also expressed its concern over issues including the removal of additional tariffs and sanctions imposed by the U.S. and fair treatment of Chinese companies, according to the statement. Both sides agreed to continue to maintain dialogue and communication, the statement added.
