EU Commission trade spokesman says talks with China to resolve EV dispute at "important moment"
MNI (BRUSSELS) - Ongoing EU talks with China to resolve a dispute over electric vehicle imports into Europe have reached "an important moment", EU Commission trade spokesperson Olof Gill said today.
The comments follow last Friday's vote by EU states to back tariffs on China-made EVs ranging between 8% for Tesla and 35% for SAIC.
Gill slammed China's decision to impose temporary anti-dumping duties on EU brandy, which he called "unfounded", "unfair" and in breach of WTO rules. (see >MNI: EU Cautious As China Offers EV Quota - Officials)
