MNI BRIEF: Mexico Inflation Falls To 4.58% In September
Result was below the 4.61% consensus forecast and down from 4.99% in August.
MNI (BRASILIA) - Mexico's INPC annual inflation was 4.58% in September, the Mexican National Institute of Statistics and Geography said on Wednesday, announcing a figure below the 4.61% consensus forecast and down from 4.99% in August.
It was the second consecutive deceleration after five months of an upward trend. Core inflation was 3.91%, also below the consensus of 3.94% and down from 4.00% in August, continuing its downward trajectory.
"Within the non-core index, on a monthly basis, agricultural product prices decreased by 1.65%, while energy prices and government-authorized tariffs increased by 0.03%," INEGI said. (See MNI POLICY: Even Banxico Hawks Accept Inflation Projections)
