MNI BRIEF: ECB Confident In Services Inflation Decline - Lane

ECB cheif economist speaks to MNI on economy and outlook for eurozone.

MNI (LONDON) - Services inflation is losing momentum and the European Central Bank is confident it will decline, with base effects in the first months of 2025 a help, cheif economist and executive board member Philip Lane told in an MNI Webcast on Wednesday.

Lane was confident that consumption will also grow base on a good recovery in real income despite this year's increase in savings. Deposits and a certain high inflation perception weifghed on consumption but savings should decrease despite disposable income growth slowing in 2025.
